Which newspapers does the collection cover ?

The collection covers the Library’s own cuttings from leading Danish newspapers: Berlingske Tidende, Information, Jyllandsposten, Politiken, Weekendavisen from 1975 until the end of 1999 as well as Kristeligt Dagblad from 1975 until June 1997. In addition the collection also has a selection of cuttings from before 1975, principally from the 1940s. Articles about foreign art and art history are only represented in the collection in so far as they are highly significant commentaries which have particular relevance in a Danish context.

What can I use the collection for?

By documenting the art debate of the day, art political decisions, architectural competitions, the opening of exhibitions, or the awarding of scholarships and prizes, the collection constitutes an important body of art-historical study material. When all other search possibilities are exhausted, there is still a fair chance of finding relevant information in the newspaper cuttings collection.

How do I search?

The collection is not yet searchable in the library's database. But you are welcome to send a mail to the Library dkb@kunstbib.dk with information about which cutting you wish to see. Following this, the material will be taken out for use in the Library Reading Room at Nyhavn 2.

How do I find articles printed after 1999?

Via bibliotek.dk you can gain access to Infomedia, which is a very comprehensive/extensive newspaper database with articles in full text from a large number of Danish newspapers. The articles go back to around 1990.
